Web series have always been popular with K-Drama fans. The short formats are attractive to viewers who want something fun to watch without investing a lot of time. Have you checked out “Here Comes Robo KDI-109!” andYellowyet?

Yellow

This series actually reminded me a bit of Kim Myung-Soo‘s web series, “One More Time.” Honestly, you can watch all 10 episodes in one sitting if you feel like it, since each segment is less than 10-minutes long. “Yellow” stars Kim Do-Wan as the leader of a rock ‘n roll group who breaks up with his girlfriend (played by Ji Ye-Eun). Did he do the right thing? Of course not, which is why he spends most of this series regretting his decision. His three bandmates help him navigate his way through his relationship regrets. There is a strong second lead syndrome going on here as well, which isn’t surprising, that will have viewers taking sides as to who is better suited to be the female lead’s partner. The series also stars Kim Kwan-Soo and Kim Hae-Woo.

“Here Comes Robo KDI-109!”

Choi Tae-Joon (“Suspicious Partner“) stars a KDI-109, a futuristic robot who goes back to present day South Korea. There, he makes it his mission to help and protect a struggling college student, played by “My First First Love” star Jung Chae-Yeon (“Barber of Seville,” “Marry Me Now,” “to.Jenny“). Directed by Park Sun-Jae, this six-episode series is short, with each episode running under 15-minutes long. As with Yeo Jin-Goo‘s “Absolutely Boyfriend” (where Yeo played a robot who fell in love with a human female), this series begs the question of how real a romance can be between a human being and a “man” who is essentially an inanimate object?

My Romantic Some Recipe

Cha Eun-Woo (ASTRO) and Joo Ah Reum star in this 80-minute web series (total 8 episodes). where the former plays a celebrity who magically (and miraculously!) appears in the latter’s house. And. He’s. Making. Her. Breakfast!! Where do we sign up?

Matching! Boys Archery

Kei stars as a fledgling webtoon artist who needs ideas for her storylines. So what’s a girl to do except land a job as the team manager for a boys’ archery team where everyone is ridiculously good lookin? LOL. Bear with me here. Anyhow, do they get her creative juices flowing? What do you think?  This six-episode series — each running about 15-minutes each — also stars Seo Ji-Hoon, Baek Chul-Min, Jo Jae-Yoon and Kim Chang-Hwan. And yes, the bromance is strong in this series!
