“A predator is a predator and if he is guilty, no matter if he pumps gas or sells millions of albums, he should be treated as such.”
—Caresse Henry, Madonna’s manager

“I was on the airplane sitting next to R. Kelly’s lawyer when the story came out about the underage girls in December [2000]. He said it’s all a bunch of crap and that everyone was coming out of the woodworks to get a piece of his fame and fortune. I don’t know R. Kelly at all, but musicians in general get a bad rap no matter what we do. It kind of goes with the territory. I’m not saying whether he’s right or wrong, but to me what the Catholic priests have been up to is way more sickening. But if it is true, there’s no excuse for his behavior.”
—Rick Nielsen, Cheap Trick

“It’s almost like we’ve accepted rock stars to have sex with children. I think it’s a disgrace. People in power in this country shouldn’t be allowed to abuse the most innocent. I don’t believe Abercrombie and Filth should sell thongs to 7-year-old girls. And if R. Kelly did do this, he should get the death penalty like all pedophiles and the least radio stations can do is stop playing his music.”
—Mancow, Q101 radio personality
