Kenny Wayne Shepherd has become the second performer in a month to be pulled from the House of Blues lineup for being too young.
The 19-year-old guitarist, who played twice during the House of Blues’ opening weekend last November, had to cancel a concert tonight because of a city ordinance restricting performances by underage entertainers at places that serve liquor.
Replacing Shepherd at 9 tonight will be singer and guitarist Ronnie Baker Brooks, son of veteran Chicago bluesman Lonnie Brooks.
Ticket holders can obtain refunds at points of purchase. Tickets for Brooks’ set are $20, and they are available.
On Feb. 20, blues artist Jonny Lang, 16, was pulled from his House of Blues gig for being underage.
In other music news, fans who missed out on tickets for Local H’s sold-out shows this weekend at Metro will get another shot soon. Silverchair has selected the Chicago-based duo as the opening act for its next tour, coming to the Aragon on April 20.
