In one of my favorite episodes of “The Big Bang Theory,” life as Sheldon Cooper knows it changes for the worse when his barber is hospitalized. He’s not sad for the elderly gentleman, but rather for himself. Who will cut his hair? With his locks spiraling out of control (in his mind), he takes up bongos one night, waking up his roommate, Leonard, as well as their neighbor, Penny (who also happens to be Leonard’s on-again, off-again girlfriend).

With the season finale of the show airing tonight, I thought it’d be fun to have a bongo-off, since I, too, play the bongos when my stylist goes rogue.

Not really. But I do have this photo of me pretending to be a beatnik.

Why, you ask?

The answer: The publication I worked for at the time didn’t want to pay to hire a real model. Since I fit the clothes they had, they photographed me, instead. Et voila!  😉

“Penny said ‘was’ but she means ‘were.’ Penny forgot the proper subjunctive.”

Soooo… What do you all think? Who’s the winner?

OK. I admit defeat. Even I’m inclined to give Sheldon the edge. How can you not? What’s more beatnik than using “subjunctive” in a sentence?

Snap. Snap. Snap.
