Go Away With … Roger Mooking

Once best known as MC Mystic in his group Bass is Base, Roger Mooking is recognized by foodies worldwide for his work on television (“Man Fire Food,” “Heat Seekers,” “Everyday Exotic”) and cookbooks. Born in Trinidad and raised in Canada, Mooking is based out of Toronto. The chef and restaurateur says that one of the small pleasures of life is finding ice cream and gelato spots wherever he travels. “I would eat ice cream every single day and after every single meal if I could get away with it, says Mooking, whose latest album is “Eat Your Words.”

Go Away With … Chelsey Crisp

Though Chelsey Crisp is a scene stealer for her portrayal of Honey on ABC’s “Fresh Off the Boat,” the actress says she often goes unrecognized when walking around with her husband, screenwriter Rhett Reese. “It takes hair and makeup a long time to turn me into Honey,” Crisp said, laughing. “I’m very pale, so they have to put a tan on me and make my hair very big. It really is a process, but it’s so much fun playing her.”

Go Away With … Wendy Hoopes

“I had a stunning visit to Essaouira, Morocco,” actress Wendy Hoopes recalls. “The ocean crashes onto gorgeous beaches and rocks and it is truly awe-inspiring. Jimmy Hendrix and the Rolling Stones used to visit this spot back in the day and you can see why. It was Ramadan when I was there and there was a full moon. I swear it filled the entire sky and it had this enormous ring around it. I never would have believed such a sight could exist if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes. (It) took my breath away. Despite the amoebas I carried home with me from that trip, it was something special.”
