Go Away With … Dontari Poe

Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Dontari Poe loves football almost as much as he enjoys helping children. His Poe Man’s Dream Foundation started off with an annual free football camp for kids in his hometown of Memphis, Tenn. It has since grown into a program for children in Memphis and Kansas City, Mo., where they are given support with tech events and a three-month program called Dream Big Build Strong. “That program teaches them about healthy living and eating, and provides additional educational support,” says Poe.

Go Away With … Lang Lang

Born in China, classical pianist Lang Lang splits his time between New York City and Beijing — when he’s not touring, that is. The 30-year-old musician travels about nine months each year for his concerts, his work with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and his International Education Foundation, which helps inspire kids through classical music. His latest CD, “The Chopin Album,” is now in stores.

Go Away With … Daryn Kagan

Daryn Kagan, 47, has traveled extensively to cover the war in Iraq and shine a light on hunger and AIDs in Africa. A resident of Atlanta, Kagan says that if you were to come to her home you’d be served a cup of tea from one of the mugs she picked up on her travels. “Everywhere I go, I buy a coffee mug,” she says. “It’s really fun to pull one out and see the ones I brought back from Nairobi, Venice, Kansas City or wherever. I get to live my travel adventure every morning when I get a cup of tea.”
