Oui by Yoplait

๐ŸดThe beauty of being an adult is that I can eat the kind of lunch I would never actually serve my child and call it good. ๐Ÿ˜‚

On the menu for today? Trader Joe’s vanilla Joe-Joe’s cookies, green tea and yogurt.

Actually, the green tea and yogurt make this a healthy lunch, right? RIGHT?

Anyhow…I usually eat Greek-style yogurt, so why did I buy this French-style Oui by Yoplait instead? Because I wanted the jar!๐Ÿถ

Yup. I came for the jar and stayed for the yogurt.

Soooo… what exactly is French-style yogurt? The main difference isn’t the ingredients, but rather how it’s made. Instead of making a large batch of yogurt and then distributing them into plastic containers, French-style is made in smaller batches in glass jars.

I’ll be honest here. I’m generally not a big yogurt fan. My husband loves his Chobani Greek yogurt. My son loves his Stonyfield organic yogurt tubes. I will force myself to eat some plain yogurt with honey on it as a good source of protein.

But, I will say that the creamy, rich consistency of Oui is to my liking and actually tastes like a treat. I also am sure that the presentation of that small cup of yogurt in that cute jar makes it seem that much more delicious.

And when you peel the cover off to enjoy your treat, you’ll get a little French lesson on the bottom of the cover. Ours said “S’il vous plait.” Thanks to my high school French, I already knew that meant “if you please” or “please.”

It is a little pricey, but it’s good.

And, like I said, the JARS!๐Ÿ‘

One of my idiosyncrasies is that when I re-purpose jars, I have to peel the label off. I liked that after a little soak on the water, Oui’s labels came off easily (without my having to resort to Goo Gone … although a quick swipe of the paring knife removed the stickiness stuck to the top of the jar).

And look how cute it is as a juice glass for the kiddo! (Also, look at how cute the kiddo is!)

Have you ever purchased something because you wanted to save the packaging?

CHECK THIS OUT:ย Oui by Yoplait isn’t cheap. I’m used to paying $1 (on sale!) for a 5.3 ounce-cup of Chobani (our favorite Greek-style yogurt). I paid about $1.60 for a 5 ounce-cup of Oui. But, I also found 4-packs at the grocery store for $5. (That averages out to about $1.25/jar).

    1. Kyle likes to drink his juice of of these jars. I think they’d make nice votive candle holders, too! I really like that the labels come off easily (after a little soaking).

      1. great ideas! They are darling- I bought them without regard for how good the yogurt is-(bonus, it was good)

    1. I’m a sucker for great packaging and have bought this yogurt for the same reason @goawaywithjae. But be careful! If it falls in your drain, it’s a pain to get out. I had to channel my inner MacGyver. That’s why @ashyoong is laughing at me lol

  1. I tried them for the jar as well. But the yogurt is delicious. Only tried the strawberry one, but one day I will splurge on the other ones. ๐Ÿ˜…
